Girls gather after the Hot Girl Walk Miami one weekend in Brickell

Hot Girl Walk Miami is the TikTok Trend IRL

The term 'hot girl walk' can be traced back to TikTok user @exactlyliketheothergirls in 2021 and it has really caught on since then. Essentially just a long walk outside while looking cute and maybe listening to an inspiration podcast or fun playlist, Hot Girl Walks have taken over. While you can certainly take a walk by yourself at any time, you could also join the Miami group and make some friends in the process!

We caught up with Hot Girl Walk Miami co-hosts Monica Villegas (@itsmonicavillegas), Lucia Di Tore (@luditore), and Lucy Nelles (@lucelianelles) to learn more about the group. Originally started by Gabi Ayala while she lived in Miami, the group lives on!

In your words, can you explain what a Hot Girl Walk is?

M, L, and L: The hot girl walk is a meet up held every week in Miami to help women connect, make friends and build community in Miami.

Why did you decide to start this Miami group?

G: I decided to start this community because I was in search of friends, which I found very hard to make in Miami. I decided to host the walks with the main focus on creating community and friendships because it was something deeply wanted and noticed other girls did too!

Did the three of you know each other before this group?

M, L, and L: No, we all met during one of the walks and loved it so much we knew we wanted to keep it going!

How many people now participate in the walks?

M, L, and L: Anywhere from 60 to 130 has been our largest group so far!

How often do you do a walk?

M, L, and L: Every Saturday at 9 AM! As the weather cools down we will probably do them closer to 10 AM though.

Where do you typically walk?

M, L, and L: We started testing different Miami routes but so far we've walked around Edgewater, Brickell, Miami Design District, and Miami Beach. We'll definitely continue to test more routes though!

What is a fun story about one of the walks you held?

M, L, and L: Being such a large crowd we usually attract quite a bit of attention and it leads to really nice interactions. We had a walk in Brickell once where an older lady asked what we were doing and when we explained it to her she was gushing about how beautiful it was that we were building a community of strong women who have each other's backs and get to connect on deeper levels.

What is your favorite part about the walks/ the group?

M, L, and L: It's amazing to watch this community grow every week! Not only is getting outside for a walk first thing on a Saturday morning an amazing way to kick off the weekend, but you also get to do it with an amazing, supportive group of women! We love seeing the community members hanging out outside the walk as well and building genuine friendships (lots of girls workout together, go to the beach, dinner or other activities during the week).

How can someone get involved if they want to join?

M, L, and L: Check out @hotgirlwalkmiami on Instagram for all of the details of our walks!

Magic Mike Dancers on stage during a Magic Mike Live performance in Miami

Magic Mike Live is Coming to Miami and 3 Dancers Talked to Us About Their Fitness Routines

Just when you thought Miami couldn’t get any hotter, Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike Live announced their North American Tour will debut in the Magic City this fall. The limited-run live experience is premiering in Miami on October 13, 2022, at the Miami Marine Stadium site.

Conceived and co-directed by Channing Tatum, Magic Mike Live is based on the movies “Magic Mike” and “Magic Mike XXL” as well as the HBOMax series “Finding Magic Mike”. The 90-minute performance features some of the world’s sexiest, most talented men performing heart-racing dance routines in front of, above and all around you. Equal parts empowering and exhilarating, the show is punctuated by unexpected, temperature-raising acts from a thrilling range of acrobatic stunts, dance performances under falling water and extravagant musical talent, sure to keep you hooked and ready for more.

We talked to three dancers for Magic Mike Live to find out more about their fitness routines and lifestyle. Is anyone surprised they love the gym?!

What type of cross-training are you doing to prepare for the show? What kind of training do you do regularly?

Nicholas Phillips: My preferred form of fitness or strength training is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) because not only is there a vital cardio element that keeps my stamina in check, it helps maintain my flexibility and mobility. I am also a coach at F45, a HIIT gym, so I am always there training and coaching.

Nate Bryan: For Magic Mike Live, I stay in shape by constantly stretching and keeping my body as warm as possible every moment of the day. I have a regular gym routine going to the gym 4-5 days a week, alternating heavy lifting with high volume days. My goal is to hit 2 different muscle groups per day.

Brian Siregar: I train at the gym 5-6 times a week with the good old Push/Pull/Legs split. I love the gym!

Brian Siregar

What does an average day look like for you?

NP: Always start my day with a coffee from my Nespresso machine! If possible, I prefer working out in the morning. Most things after that, such as rehearsal schedules, are frequently changing depending on what job I am working on. If I’m not on a job I tend to fill my time taking dance classes and coaching at F45, sometimes working out twice a day.

NB: An average day is waking up around 10-11 a.m., and heading to the gym for about 1-1.5 hrs. I love producing music on the side, so I typically work on music for the rest of the day while my breaks are spent on stretching and eating since we are burning over 1500 calories while doing two shows a night.

BS: We love a morning gym sesh. After that, I get to meal prepping for the day and soon enough in Miami I’ll be dancing every night!

How long have you been dancing for? What styles of dance are you trained in?

NP: My brother and I started breakdancing when he was 14 and I was 11. Throughout my teen years I took it more seriously and started taking hip hop classes as well. After high school I did two years of full-time training in all styles; adding jazz and ballet technique to my repertoire followed by 1 year of full time musical theatre.

NB: I started my dance journey last summer on an unscripted reality show by HBO Max called “Finding Magic Mike.” I have always enjoyed dancing but this is the most serious I have taken it. While I am new to dance, I feel I have a natural ability to pick up things very quickly.

BS: I’ve been breakdancing since I was 13 but started training in more technical styles when I went to college where I studied dance.

Nate Bryan

What is your favorite type of workout?

NP: I’m very much into HIIT workouts.

NB: My favorite type of workout is either lifting heavy or just playing a sport to keep my athletic ability up to par.

BS: My favorite type of workout is just dumbbell work. Especially on push day, the pump goes crazy!

What is your favorite post-show or cheat day treat?

NP: I’m a sucker for anything salted caramel, particularly ice cream!

NB: I HAVE AN OBSESSION WITH SWEETS! I find myself waking up in the middle of the night to grab some twinkies. Also a big cheesecake fan!

BS: McDonald’s, hands down. Large meal. Lemme at ‘em!

Nick Phillips

Anything else you’d like to add about your fitness routine or lifestyle?

NP: Other physical hobbies of mine include tennis and snowboarding, both of which I’ve done from a very young age.

NB: A very big component of mine has always been to listen to my body and to get the right food in my system to help with the overall function of your body! Before working with Magic Mike Live I played professional baseball so I understand what it takes to work hard on and off the stage.

BS: I’d love to do more yoga to be honest. I definitely want to work so much more on my mobility.

Tickets to Magic Mike Live are on sale now at mmltour.com and start at $49 plus taxes and fees. Epic VIP experiences are also available for those looking to up the ante and experience a night to remember.

Just when you thought Miami couldn’t get any hotter, Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike Live announced their North American Tour will debut in the Magic City this fall. The limited-run live experience is premiering in Miami on October 13, 2022, at the Miami Marine Stadium site.

A closeup of feet as people are running in Chargefeel sneakers by lululemon at night

Pressing Pause is Optional With the New lululemon Chargefeel

lululemon debuted another women's footwear style today. The new shoe is a versatile training sneaker called Chargefeel that is designed to support you in every activity, from running, to training, to everywhere on the go and is now available in stores and online.

Built with the bounce and forward propulsion of a running shoe and balanced by the stabilizing side-to-side motion of a trainer, Chargefeel was made to go and go thanks to a dual-density foam layering system. The shoe is available in both a mid-top and a low-top style.

The Chargefeel focuses on an unmet need - today more than ever, we are working out in a lot of different ways. lululemon's creation process included multiple rounds of gear-testing and footwear scan data from more than 1 million feet to ensure the perfect fit. Whether you like HIIT sessions, dance workouts, or boxing classes, Chargefeel is a performance shoe that is ready for you.

I got to try out these new sneakers prior to launch and I loved how supported I felt. I had great traction and the shoe felt light on my foot. While I've only done a HIIT workout so far, I am looking forward to weight-training and sprinting with the Chargefeel as well. Not to mention, I love the sporty style of the mid-top!

The launch features 14 colorways, including highlight yellow, black and white, and magenta purple. The low-top style is available for $138 while the mid-top shoe is $148.

Earlier this year, lululemon launched the Blissfeel running shoe and the Restfeel slide. The Strongfeel will be the last of the new styles to roll out later this year. The brand also plans to launch a collection of men's footwear in 2023.

I am a lululemon Ambassador and received the shoes as a gift but opinions are my own.

Two girls wearing Fort Lauderdale-based brand Kosha Fit activewear at the beach

Kosha Fit of Fort Lauderdale is Bringing You Activewear With a Purpose

Showing up in clothes that make you look good and feel good really can set the tone for the day. If you wake up and put on a workout set, you’re more likely to eat healthier or make better decisions, like going to yoga or the gym. This mentality is the inspiration behind Kosha Fit, a Fort Lauderdale-based activewear brand.

Kosha Fit was founded in September 2020 by Jordan Artman as a sustainable activewear company with a purpose. The company has a goal to inspire a life of balance, self-discovery, and connection to your truest essence and this came from Artman's own transformation following her graduation from Florida State University.

Artman was enrolled in an immersion program with Coby Kozlowski where she learned about the kosha teachings and they were a tangible way for her to connect with her most authentic and show up in alignment.

The Kosha Fit logo represents the five koshas, or layers of being - physical body, energy and breath, mind, wisdom and non-judgement, bliss and enlightenment. We are our highest and most authentic selves when the five koshas are in alignment. Each layer is represented as a line on the logo to keep those teachings top of mind. Kosha Fit is designed to wear beyond the mat and in daily life as a reminder to show up in alignment.

"When we are at peace and fulfilled within, we foster oneness, improve relationships, and cultivate the stability and balance that we’re all seeking," said Artman. "I am committed to provide purposeful and high quality activewear, tools for true transformation, and meaningful relationships with our community."

Kosha Fit offers yoga sets with matching bras, shorts, and leggings manufactured using their signature AuraForm material that is buttery soft, sweat-proof, and flattering. Whether you like high-wasted, contouring leggings or one-shoulder tops and cropped tanks, Kosha Fit offers a variety of activewear that can take you from your favorite yoga or workout class to coffee or brunch. Sets are available in neutral colors and Kosha Fit also releases collections with seasonal colors. Prices range from $38 - $74.

Primarily sold on online, you can also find Kosha Fit activewear in Las Olas Yoga and in other studios and boutiques in cities across the country. Kosha Fit offers free and fast shipping - orders are packed and shipped the same day!

In addition to having high quality activewear in unique colors and custom styles, Kosha Fit is committed to providing the community with the resources and tools to pursue a journey out of self-doubt and into self-discovery, a path that leads to profound transformation. The brand pays it forward by donating a portion of all sales to NAMI, the National Alliance for Mental Illness.
